An (Almost) Birthday

Almost one year ago today, we sat in a hospital room as staff bustled around us preparing our premature son for the NICU. His little hand wrapped around my finger as we tried to memorize every feature of our tiny new baby. We would spend the next 53 days in the NICU before coming home. During those uncertain days, our son was cared for by the best team of doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and other specialized staff. Not only did they care for our son, but they also took care of two incredibly scared first-time parents. 

We have no words to say how thankful we are for the support we received during our hospital stay. Because of the care our family received, we’ve been able to watch Sam grow into the happiest, sweetest, funniest and most curious little boy. He is feisty and resilient and won’t be defined by his early start in life. 

We want to acknowledge the amazing work that the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation does for families with sick children. We know the unbearable feeling of the hospital being your child’s temporary home and want to do our part to thank the SCHF for all they do to make those uncertain days bearable. 

We're joining in the Teddy Bear FUN to help Stollery kids from my backyard!

We're participating in Teddy Bear Fun Fest on May 10, 2025 at Rundle Park. In addition to a 5 km fun run/walk/roll, I'm ready to enjoy a day full of FUN and FUNdraising in support of Stollery kids.

The Stollery is a cause that's near and dear to our hearts. With your support, we'll help kids from backyards across central and northern Alberta access some of the best physical and mental health care anywhere in the world - and have a ton of fun while we're doing it!
